Those EMS People

Another Dodger play, this track is.....er amazing, had it on repeat for half an hour.

As a new covert to Islam I find this CD quite interesting as it contains many references to Jesus- describing him as the Son of God-there are also obtuse references to the Holy spirit. While it's clear that Jesus was a Prophet- the Holy Spirit is a blasphemy as there is only one God not some threesome sat in heaven. I for one feel that DJ's and Podcasters take these deeply religious themes and tracks and manipulate them in order to persue their own selfish interests. I'd guess few if any have read the Bible or Qur'an-indeed many on EMS boast of drinking large amounts of hard liquor and are fornicators -Women who should be taking care of the family stagger around Events with acres of flesh on show disgracing themselves. Men who should be taking care of the family are out alone at Events trying to impress these Women-and spend money better spent on giving their children a decent education. The lack of spirituality is best exampled by the constant need for the past-Rafters Revivals- Parkers Revivals and so on. The past for them is a raft clung onto in the sea of hopelessness typified by the emptyness within their Souls. While I doubt the value, the sincerity of the Christian message is worth respecting and it's deeply ironic that those who choose to feature these songs have almost no respect for these values. They treat faith as simply a genre- cannon fodder for their presentations of music. I have yet to hear any DJ who features religious material -express their beliefs either on a microphone or in the written word. They don't lack the courage of their convictions-they have no convictions. The corruption of Gospel has been essential to turning a quick buck for many decades- now it is reduced to fluffing out some notion of Soul music, Why? because even though those that populate their shows with Gospel even they don't believe -it's a lot better than that modern Black Music full of references to a modern culture, that they cannot accept or begin to understand.

Gospel in Modern Soul-the biggest con of them all.
